About Built to Win

Player development that translates to games.

The focus is simple: help players become more effective when the lights are on. That means teaching details—footwork, pacing, angles, reads, and decision-making—so players aren’t just good in workouts, they’re better in live play.

Every player is different. We look at your current level, role, and goals, then build a clear plan that we attack together over time.

Game-like drills Position-specific work Confidence & mindset Structured progression
What to expect

Structured, purposeful workouts.

No random drills. Each session is planned around what the player needs most: in-season maintenance, off-season growth, or pre-tryout and pre-season preparation.

  • Warm-up and footwork activation
  • Ball-handling and pace work
  • Finishing vs. contact and length
  • Shooting off the catch and dribble
  • Live, decision-based reps and reads

The goal: when the ball finds you, you’re ready to make the right play with confidence.

Meet the Coaches

Coaches who know the game and how to teach it.

Portage, Wisconsin

Coach Jeffrey

I’m a passionate player development coach whose love for the game runs far deeper than points, plays, or wins. Basketball has built me—my confidence, my discipline, and many of the most meaningful relationships in my life—and now I’m committed to giving that same experience back to the next generation of athletes.

Before joining Built to Win, I coached at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where I had the opportunity to help develop three All-Americans, contribute to the highest national ranking in school history, and be part of the program’s first NCAA Tournament win ever. Those experiences shaped the way I teach the game today: with detail, purpose, and standards worthy of winning basketball.

Built to Win was Kenny’s original idea—his vision for a training philosophy centered on purpose, competitiveness, and development that actually shows up in real games. I’m grateful to be joining forces with him to help expand that vision and bring high-level training to athletes in Portage, Wisconsin.

I bring a detailed, game-focused approach to training. I understand that real development is more than running drills; it’s teaching players how to think, react, and make the right decisions when the gym is loud and the lights are bright. My sessions mix skill work, footwork, pace, and IQ in a way that helps players build habits that translate, not just look good in a workout.

But above all, I care about people. I build strong connections with my athletes, push them with honesty and encouragement, and create an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and confident in their growth.

Based out of Portage, Wisconsin, I work with boys and girls from 3rd grade through college, helping each player understand their strengths, strengthen their weaknesses, and develop a clear path forward in their game.

To me, basketball is more than a sport—it’s a vehicle for growth, confidence, and lifelong relationships. And with Built to Win, I’m fully committed to teaching players how to work, how to think, and how to compete with purpose.
